Even if you had current British Cycling membership what use would be ? - the insurance that comes with is only public liability insurance.

They may represent you - but so will a.n other solicitor.

If you get a claim going it will bother the car driver for some time, up his premiums and pay for your bike. Also save you having regrets later.
You may have more effect on the person than a police driven one. Phone solicitor. The common consensus is rarely wrong.
