I recently re-strung my daughters guitar, and was so impressed by the Dunlop strings I put on it, that I bought some for my Ovation guitar. I have been a hardened Rotosound user for years!
They sound lovely and I have played it more this past few weeks than I have all year!

Anyway, I am now looking to re-string my Yamaha 12 string. I have found Dunlops for it but wonder if there's anything else you'd recommend.
Martin were suggested...anyone use those?

Any other suggestions before I buy?

Martin - my first choice. I love the sound of them.

I switched to Elixir for a couple of years - they cost more, but lasted a lot longer. But ... I've gone back to Martin!

I've been using D'Addario strings on electric and acoustic for over 10 years. They seem to have a string for every type of player, they feel good and I don't seem to have a problem with tuning too much. I have also tried Elixir and liked them. I wasn't a fan of Ernie Ball strings but I haven't tried their acoustic strings. I know people who swear by them.

I don't like Ernie Ball strings...I have tried most strings over the years and always gone back to Rotosound, but want to try something different now.

What would be your choice between 80/20's or Phosphor Bronze, bearing in mind it's for a 12 string?

I use Elixir on my Tanglewood acoustic, this is what they came with and I've always liked them. The feel is really silky. They are fairly pricey.
I restrung my classical this week with d'addario this week, cheapo 10 quid set and they sound quite nice.

I always use Rotosound on bass. I don't remember ever trying their guitar strings. Should be worth a try on my Aria backup.

I find 12 strings tend to be bright any way so I'd probably go for Phosphor Bronze.

I love the sound of Rotosound Nexus, and keep them on my Atkin. They're coated but don't seem to last anywhere near as long as Elixirs, but once they're past that initial coated-string-zinginess they sound fabulous.

Last time I had a 12-string, I settled on D'Addario EJ38s in the end.

D'Adds and Martins here. Martins seem to keep their warmth for longer - you know that unbearably new brightness when you put a new set on, d'Adds seem to lose their middle life quicker.
