Action required to activate membership for Garmin forums ?

I've had my garmin device about a month and thought all the software was done and dusted.

I'm getting e-mails per the thread title with a link to click.

Is this a new thing, is it legit or a scam, anyone else getting these e-mails ?

Not had any emails. When I do connect to garmin it says I have two updates, but as my 800 is working fine I've not done these.

Interesting, I'm going to leave it for now but I have had three e-mails. Just weary of clicking the link as when I go into connect it makes no mention of any updates.

Ive got 2 garmins, one for the bike and one for the car. I have not had any emails from them.

I've bought a forerunner 15 in the last week. Got an email to join the Garmin forum, theres a sticky on there about the new feature to choose a username when setting up an account so may be related to that.

If we dont hear from you for a few weeks, we will know not to do it.

You may be getting emails because your device is newly registered. The rest of are not because we have older devices and have been registered for a while.
