Adjustable stems - yes or no?

I used one on my old carerra for many thousands of miles.
Creaked a bit but it did help my back and shoulder problems at the time

Heavy? There’s about 50g difference between the Ritchey standard (excluding carbon) and adjustable stems. Having a dump would have a bigger effect...

- often the advice in these weighty matters, but once you've had the dump, what then????

I used one after my hip replacement. No problems. Even if it began to slip I can't see how it would do so without warning.

My Secteur came with a Specialized Multi Stem. It gives you the choice of a wide range of angles by using a cunning eccentric sleeve that can be rotated and then locked on the steerer tube.
