Some prison officers are paid the minimum wage. They'd be better off working in supermarkets. The money is the same and it's a much nicer and safer environment.

I've always wondered what sort of health package workers in those jobs get.

They'd need a good one if they get kettles of boiling water poured over them on a regular basis.

in winter joint /old injury pain is more prevalent as the lower barometric pressure is a factor as it makes soft tissue swell pressing on nerves etc

I was in the passenger seat on the way to family on Christmas Eve when there was a strong smell of burning. Had the car somehow caught fire or was there a fire outside? Easy way to find out would be for me to open my window. But it wouldn't work.

I found out why when we eventually arrived. And if the car had been fire, it had gone out by then.

I had a carful of relatives on the way home from Kent when I asked "Can anyone smell burning?". I could, but nobody else did, so I just opened my window. It was a couple of weeks later on the way to work one morning that clouds of smoke started billowing out from behind the dashboard.

It was 20C, the 1980 amendment reduced it to19C.

Or hospitals. I’ve just come home from visiting and the place was like a sauna. When I tried to turn down the room’s thermostat, it wouldn’t go below 23C!

Why do they keep hospitals so hot all the time?
