One of my local roads has had bollards placed across it to help create a LTN. It's now more dangerous in icy weather, gritter lorries can't get down it anymore.

Greenland is about a quarter of the size of Australia. It just looks bigger on a map because of the way that the earth's spherical surface is projected on to a flat page.

Production of the , in the news, TS Verge Superbike with Donut wheel and as of 2026, an 'in production' 400Wh/kg Solid State battery was likely enabled by a massive UK industrial grant.
To be learned, John DeLorean is a secret advisor?

Dogtrousers

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Traditional Doctor Marten's shoes only had three pairs of eyelets. I wore them constantly for about 20 years.

Why did you stop?

I'm curious because they were my only shoes for 30 or so years and then, around 2005-2010 or thereabouts I stopped and swapped to walking shoes, or trainers and I'm not quite sure why.

I think it was because I got sick of carrying trainers round and swapped to black trainers that were smart enough for work (and dress codes at work were rapidly disappearing or had disappeared at the time) and also I could wear them in the gym. Also the last pair of docs that I had didn't feel the same and I didn't like them.
