It appears so, from a really quick google 10mins or so ago. I expected it to be far more strict since that advisory referendum!

It wouldn't surprised me if it's very difficult to take a ferry from England/Scotland to NI without photo ID (even though there's no legal requirement).

Last time I went we drove off the ferry and found our way out of the port and were on the main road before we knew we were out of the port

The moral of this tale is not to leave a watermelon exposed to the full baking heat of sunlight streaming in through an adjacent window!!

I've noticed that fruit & veg in general seem to be going off a lot faster in the recent heat.

If you run the mile at mens 1500m record pace you will beat the new world mile record by 3 seconds or so.

If I swam a mile at men's record pace, I'd beat my own record by about quarter of an hour.

I've had Youth Hostels asking to see a driving licence on occasion.

A better fact is that if you ran 200m at 100m pace you would only break the record by 0.03 seconds because of the momentum carried into the final 100m makes the overall speed almost identical.
But if you ran 400m at 200m pace you would break the record by over 4.5 seconds because you can’t maintain top speed for that long.

I have just discovered that it is a good idea to check old paint tins before moving them from an overcrowded shed, through a house, and into a car before taking them to the local council tip. Fortunately, this one showed me why before I even got to the house!!!

The rusty metal disc next to the empty paint tin is not the lid of the tin, it was originally the bottom of the tin! It had just fallen off and emptied the contents of the tin on me, the lawn, and another tin of paint!

It would have been a right pain if it had happened a minute or two later.

Just realised that you can use the reverse of a chain checker to hold the ends of a chain when you refit a speed link, didn't need the bit of bent coat hanger I usually use 🙄

Not unusual. Police arrested 12 ‘far right terrorists’on the belief they were about to cause multiple fatalities (echoed by Mahmoud) at an Islamic meeting. Released 11 with no Charge, and charged one with possession of two batons and a taser in their home.

Much the same as the unrealistic '85mph' headline motorbikes described as ebikes. I guess the hand turning awkwardness of actually cranking to 85mph tells us that those were likely illegal motorbikes.
