After some stiff soled shoes...suggestions please

Don't need no cleats, just a good stiff sole..... (this is no plaice for fish jokes either)

Doesn't have to be retro chic (thought something 'pukka' would be good) just cheap, cheerful and functional. Tried trainers and they're carp (sorry, my thread my rules). Don't mind second hand/flea bay.

I had some Diadora cycling shoes once,many moons ago. I knew I'd regret getting rid.

Just get any SPD shoes and don't fit the cleats. Mind you, having got that far, you might be tempted to invest in some SPD pedals...you know it makes sense.

+1 get a good pair of mtb shoes and if you don't want to don't fit the cleats. I've known a few folk who have done likewise. Of the pairs I've got the BG MTB sports are the stiffest but they may be too stiff if a lot of walking is called for.

Got mtb shoes already. Got cleats, both spd and roadie, already.

Just after stiff soled shoes. Cheap ones... nought fancy. Used to see them on ebay once upon a time. Now there are companies out there that want to charge you £100+ for retro Italian look etc etc etc.

Reckon I'd better just search the car boot sales & 2nd hand shops over here.

any leather soled shoes are stiff. i use them so i only need one pair for cycling and placements (nowhere to leave stuff)
