after the front light thread, battery confusion

I'm trying to order a fenix L2D, but I'm as confused as hell as to what power it can take, will these blow it up?

The L2D is 2 x AA (usually rechargeable)

The 18650 lithium cells linked are noticeably bigger (18mm dia x 65mm long, vs 14mmx50mm for AA). They are also 3.7V instead of 1.2 to 1.5V.
They are however starting to be used in torches available here, like the Fenix TK11 (as an alternative to 2 x CR123). People are also ordering mega-bright torches from Hong Kong that use them, like this (about 4 times as bright as an L2D, but only lasts an hour on full power).
