Only into my second week of cycle commuting proper...

... supposed to be building up into it as fitness / cycling stamina allows.

Cycled in and home on Monday.
Tuesday cycled in, train home.
Weds train in, cycled home

Today.... on the motorbike so no cycle (the legs do need a rest) but am already thinking about the cycle in tomorrow

Maybe I should just get on and do some work instead.....

LOL, it's fun, isn't it? I always end up hating having to take another way to work.

On the days I wake up with my legs feeling a bit tired I just get on the bike and take it a little easier for a few kilometres then eventually the tired feeling is a distant memory. The thought of not using the bike doesn't even enter my head these days.

And then the additional bikes, it's a slippery slope

Hmmmm yeah got to be careful on that one. I'm already on "red watch" having changed my motorbike five times in five years, and I already have the road and MTB....

That said I've already managed to negotiate a new "cycle shed" on the basis that our kids are getting bigger, and five bikes just don't fit into the main shed anymore. Am sure I can find some new bike space in there somewhere.....

Don't even start thinking about that Garmin GPS for that Sunday morning cycle.

Wait until you have done 3 or 4 weeks of commuting only by bike. Then try the train/car/motorbike. That will show you 'sad'

Ha - felt weird enough being on the motorbike yesterday - and that was only after having not used it for three days....

...I might feel different when it's raining and a howling gale though....

So it starts... just a matter of time until you're planning a longer route to work. Keep it up.

...yes, I knew I was getting hooked when one fine summer day, having spare time too (unusually for me) I took a 'detour' on my commute home, and the 17 mile trip turned into a 43 mile one...
