Am I the only one to let the weather get the better of me?

No, actually a liffa baselayer, toped with a merino baselayer, toped with a jersey, toped with a thermal windproof jacket, toped with a waterproof shell (if raining), it's not even close to enough!
Add glove liners and thrermal gloves, 2 buffs, thermal tights, under-shorts, overshoes, thermal socks and that's me covered for up to 1-2 degrees.
Still freezing, mind you, but coping.. :cold:

Twas 1C on Tuesday evening coming home from my mothers and I had to stop to remove a layer because I was too warm!
I had set out in a merino wool base layer, cheap cycling jersey & waterproof top, winter bib leggings +leg warmers, wool socks, & waterproof gloves.
Less than 5 miles down the road I was too warm & had to strip at the side of a main road... I carried on home wearing only the merino wool base layer & waterproof top on my top half and was plenty warm enough... I got home around 9:15pm after 33km in 1 hr 30 mins - so nothing more than 22kph average.

...My problem is when it's hovering around 4 degrees.. Base layer + winter jersey + wind shell are too much, but loose one and its slightly too little!

drop that to about 0C here and tis my problem as well. Still not quite got it sussed correctly. Expecting this morning to be way too warm as I cycle to college.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Just been out for a quick spin to the LBS to have an indexing issue fixed ( done for free as it was not a big job and i could do it myself but night shift = im a bit thick ) and its very nice, definitely back on the road tonight.

...everyone is entitled to their predjudices...I dont really care one little bit what mmf thinks about Turkish people, all I was doing was contributing a comment to the thread, regarding changing the weather.
They say the West Bank is very nice this time of year. You could go there next! Probably good cycling on the Golan Heights too - pity the neighbors don't get on....

Feeling much better now, got out yesterday and today on the bike. My average speeds weren't that great, but I was limited more by the road conditions (i.e. debris, pot holes, mud, floods etc.) than my own stamina. Felt great getting out in the fresh air again and at least my bike didn't buckle under all the weight I've been putting on (+4kg since November).
