The fact that the perspective isn't perfect and the hut roof is not formed means nothing. Any drawing/painting, unless it's meant to be a true depiction, is just an impression. You could I suppose draw something that was techincally perfect in every single respect, but why bother? Just take a photograph.
You remind me of taking our daughters to the BP Portrait Awards one year, and drawing my youngest's attention to an incredible photo-realism pic. She gave me that 'Yes? And?' look she did so well, even at such a tender age. 'Don't you think it's amazing?' I asked. She gave me the shrug. 'You'd almost think it was a photo,' I said. 'If I wanted a photo, I'd use a camera,' she said.

Here's a detail from a recent self portrait:

(I should say, she's a lot older than Sam.)

I mentioned before about an old sailor who painted, blow me down , I was wandering around the Tate today and there on display are two of his works !
Alfred Wallace , so as he was a ‘naive’ he did well to gain a spot in the Tate !
If you Google his name you can see some of his paintings,
I also saw some paintings of an English Painter , a favourite of mine , Samuel Palmer , from Kent , 19th Century ,

I'm sure we saw a plaque with Samuel Palmer's name on it as we walked next to the river at shoreham last summer.

I really like that @ozboz - very reminiscent of art nouveau-ish biscuit tin lids.

Please ask Sam if we could help get their work to a wider audience? I'm sure being linked with a masterful work of fiction, and the obvious financial benefits once published, will prove tempting? Thank you.
