Lee Evans, Harry Hill, The Pub Landlord fellow...Jo Brand, Ben Elton..I have never got to grips with these ideas, but I haven't really got a sense of humour.

I'm always amazed that people don't 'get' Harry Hill's comedic ability.

It's like saying you don't find Oliver Hardy funny: i.e. it's hard to find a comic so naturally funny. His mastery of delivery, mannerisms, movement, tiny eye/mouth/eyebrow/cheek nuances (I don't mean the gurning side glances to camera) and, of course, timing and ability to work the audience, are a masterclass in how to be funny.

I usually find that those who don't find him funny are those who need 'jokes' to find a comedian funny, or who are more concerned with WHAT's being said as opposed to HOW it is delivered, the latter being the marque of the greatest comic talents. His present currency is not founded on mediocrity......

Then again, some people don't even find Basil Brush (the original) funny: amazing but true.

I like Harry Hill - saw him 'live' about eight or nine years ago and the show got better as the night went on. He'd introduce another long-running gag that he'd return just as you'd forgotten about it until he was darting between quite a few - very silly, very funny.
The pork chop and two scoops of mash was a classic - but I guess you had to be there!!

Why, good evening Jonesy! It has been a while - I don't come round much, as arguing with professional loafers only has limited appeal!!

Who's crudula masquerading as now, then? Any juicy threads needing my attention?

fozy tornip and gigong chimp...

There was quite a good arts grads vs scientists tussle a few weeks ago (though theclaud denied that anyone would be so silly as to have such an argument  ) but that theme has gone quiet for a bit. But this one proved surprisingly entertaining!
