Anodised Ti ? (pretty colours??)

Can you get coloured - but unpainted - Ti frames?
What else would folks like to tell me about this, just to really show-up my ignorance??
(it was mentioned in passing on R4 this morning, on a prog about Aluminium with quite a lot of bike frame content )

Broadcaster says that Ti can be coloured in the same way, by adding dye during the anodising process (implied that Al was better): a coloured oxide layer.

When I met the current Mrs Skol at the start of the 90s she had a penchant for wearing pretty rainbow anodised Titanium jewellery, a habit I capitalised on in order to help garner her affections and I bought her several such items in the process.

I have always wondered if the same finish could be applied to a titanium bicycle frame? I think it would be pretty cool and would even be enough to make me consider owning a Ti bike.

I’ve got to admit it. A bike frame would look awesome with that colouring.

I took delivery of my first titanium bike last week. It's the natural colour which varies between champagne and silver. I can't imagine why one would want to colour something so beautiful and distinctive.

There was a brief period when I seemed to own the most common fashionable bike in the world. I rocked-up to the 2009 LEL start, and I reckon more than half my start wave had plain Ti frames with plain black carbon forks.
