No idea. I’m self employed
Look your scheme or hmrc
Your last post was suggesting that to could use it for groupset, etc. I just assumed that you knew something that I can’t seem to find online.

I have noticed that it gets mentioned now and again. Nobody really comments any further though. Perhaps @jowwy or @Joffey wouldnt mind elaborating?

I contemplated getting a SRAM eTap groupset with my C2W voucher a few weeks ago and Sigma Sport said they would allow that and let me make up the difference in cash. The best thing to do is make contact wit the retailers directly. I do know that Wiggle are strict and if it isn't on their C2W website they won't let you buy it but the smaller retailers give you more leeway.

I think it can vary from shop to shop but mu LBS takes it on sale price items as well.

Another point to note (not your bike shop as you said they offer it on sale items) is your LBS might not give you the full voucher value on sale items. A few shops I have encountered will only give you 90% of the vouchers worth on sale items as that's all they get from the scheme.

Obviously it's up to you if you want to do that - the sale price might be worth it etc.

HMRC changed their interpretation of what you need to keep the bike in good working order and therefore you safe when riding. Pretty much you can include anything on cycle to work if it maintains the bike and/or is classed as safety equipment.

Not here offten enough to argue

Just bought full di2 group set on cycle to work scheme through Evans cycles for the cross/commuter. It's now within hmrc regulations as they now understand once bikes are bought they also need to be maintained for regular use by buying parts. But you can't buy gps, turbos or cameras...........but some Evans stores will allow you to

Does this mean that you own the bike, and your employer owns the groupset?
Not really.........i have never not taken the option to keep the c2w items I have bought. To me it's like HP for a car or a mortgage, you don't own either until it's paid off.

I know that Halfords direct don’t.

Ooh dangerous. I’ve never actually thought about buying components and my itchy buy button n+1 is currently a Canyon so can’t get it on C2W. Maybe I’ll look in the next enrolment window for a nice wheel upgrade.
