Unfortunately no more travelling for me this year. It does look interesting though.

It's only a 100 or so miles from Sheffield - you could ride it in no time (says someone who will ride 9 miles to Paddington on their folder and then jump on a FGW train to Oxford).

<Yawn> Did I call you a self-gratification artist though? Pure class Ben, pure class.

You know what, in retrospect calling you a self-gratification artist may have been slightly uncalled for, so I apologise for that.

You're still an idiot though.

You'd think wouldn't you? Never seems to happen though. I've givenn up actively participating in these threads cos I see so many rljs every morning and they never seem to get run over.

Anyway here's your soda...

Getting thirsty yet Lee? Beer?

With an understanding of probability as fundamentally misguided as that, I'd advise strongly that you avoid casinos.

Everytime [sic] one throws a six with a dice, the odds of throwing any given number with the following throw remains 1 in 6.

As I said previously I do tend to stay out of these threads now but........

This morning I saw 6 "full" RLJs ie no intention of stopping, straight through junctions. I didn't count all the people who pull up at the central island of a crossroads etc. Anyway of those 6, how come not one of them is actually as quick as me? That includes the guy with "all the gear" and the nice shiny bike. I was just short of telling him I hoped he got hit and hurt the next time he did it (I know I'm a bad person ) but the thought was there.

And, I might add, I'm not exactly firing on all cylinders this week so anyone I overtake should be fairly ashamed!!!

On a happier note I'd just like to say respect to the bloke who commutes on a BMX, that must take some doing. And he actually knows how to signal and what red lights are for......

Lee does have a point about the name calling. Just because he acts so badly is no excuse for us to descend to the same level.

...and no, I'm far from perfect too.

On the ride home yesterday, 60% of the cyclists were RLJing & that's not including the ones that sailed past the white line & waited at the traffic island.

Acts so badly ? He can be a pedant and at times enjoy a good troll but he has on ocassion be known to make a good point.

There's a reason for that....

Oh please enlighten us oh wise sage, rather than encourage another 5 pages of people trying to guess your point. I know you have one, but I find watching people trying to squeeze it out of you quite painful.

Traffic waiting at a red light, sometimes it can be better to filter right to the front, over the stop line and make eye contact with the driver. Better then pulling up alongside them at a red light. This way you have a dominant position from the off.
[/quote]

It's a point of view. Still technically an illegal practice though. Why not instead of pulling up alongside them at the traffic light, take your place in the queue if you feel there may be a risk? That way you can still hold a dominant position and stay legal.

Rusky was referring to ones that sailed past the white line & waited at the traffic island. Which is a little bit further across than just being in a dominant position.

We have a dual carriageway cross roads outside work and many cyclists will cross the first carriageway on red (if it is clear) and wait for a gap in the traffic while holding onto the central reservation. Should have waited for the green light imo. Jumping a red to get halfway across a road is still jumping a red light.

Guys, please calm it down.
May I remind you of one of the rules.

While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts.

If you have a problem with certain members posts then report the post to Admin/Mods rather then start a personal slanging match or indulge in childish name calling on the forums.
