Another totally irresponsible response from a driver

"Typical smug cyclist who think they own the road and ride like pillocks! Cyclists should be banned from all roads unless there is a cycle path available- they are a menace to every tax paying motorist. Only a complete w**ke* would ride a yard from the kerb on this busy road, on yer bike! This firm are 100% correct in bringing this dangerous cyclist to peoples attention, he should be prosecuted!

The arrogance shown here is so bad as to be comical. This is the sort of attitude you have to deal with and its the devil's own work to educate such people. Can anyone give me an example of how such a colossal bell-end has changed his ways and became a decent person? (rather than just killed).

Nope.
A good solution would be to remove driving licences from morons who actually believe this. Shame it will never happen.

while he's sitting behind a keyboard, typical of someone who's never ridden a bike.

Insert witty title here
I see the company website is now 'down for maintenance'. I think perhaps it's not a great idea for a driver to abuse a cyclist in a work van. Hopefully they will begin to realise that they can't get away with this sort of attitude, and it can destroy their business.

I was hit by a company van, put in an insurance claim, driver lied to police and insurance company. I suspect it certainly didn't go him much good in relation to his insurance premium!

But it would be nice just to see an end to the antipathy, more understanding between drivers and cyclists.

So the rude and ignorant response from the company has lost them any commercial benefit from their online presence, at least for the time being.

Good enough for them, but were I the cyclist I would consider changing my route tomorrow.

The fact that the storm he's started at the company is justified won't stop the van driver from doing something stupid, and it would be in character.

good idea either that or at least change top and helmet i know a cyclist who was given a lot of abuse at traffic lights he got of his bike opened the car door took out the keys and thrown them into a field before cycling off, needless to say he changed both his helmet clothing bike and even his route for a bit.

I reckon given the amount of publicity this firm and the cyclist have had it would be pretty damn stupid if the van driver were to deliberately do anything to harm the cyclist. If anything I think the driver should make a point of apologizing on behalf of himself and his boss to the cyclist for all the grief he has given him over the last week or two.
Will probably never happen though.

Good thought, a top and helmet change would be much less inconvenient than changing routes or timing.
