Lived in the Hague for 2 years and recall the safety dance every morning.

When is comes to cycling the rest of the planet really needs to learn from the Dutch.

I think fingers crossed in a few years it will be as they've been living that life style for many years now and most of the roads seem purpose built for bikes first then cars,

The little white triangles at the end of the road mean you have to give way. The Dutch call them haaientanden ("shark's teeth").

Thanks sophie. I absolutely love Amsterdam, but I never mastered the Safety Dance. Hyde Park Corner on two wheels is a lot less scary than those Dutch cyclists.

Dutch people are so elegant on bikes, they make me feel slovenly, but then they are naturally tall because of the flooding.

I made a point of visiting that junction a few weeks ago, it looks more chaotic in real life.
