Just got back from a friend's funeral who drowned last week.

*FWIW, I stupidly went to see him in Torquay many, many years ago on holiday. If you haven't ever had the misfortune to do so, he's exactly 743,615 times more hateful in real life, trust me.

I read that as "point nine recurring'. Not the most obvious notation, but it works. If you add in another .9 you break the rule that you can only use three digits in each expression.

(Folks, this is what passes for humour among mathematical pedants.)
