Reminds me of the drain in the floor of a service workshop used by a team servicing renal dialysis machines. Drain was the highest point of the floor.

When we had the patio and drive redone - after the previous people did a "sub standard" job a few years before
I was very happy to see the owner of the company going around with a long spirit level making very sure that the whole area sloped very slightly
TOWARDS the drainage bits
He was very pedantic about it
I said it was nice to see and he said that it was one of his pet hates when he sees puddles where the thing clearly doesn;t slope the right way
If I look outside now then I will see zero puddles!

Couple of years ago I had to replace the bottom section of one of our living room windows, which had rotted because the sill sloped slightly back towards the house, so every time it rained...

Yup - used to live in a house like that
That was with my ex - so when I suggested putting some filler on it to stop it forming a puddle all the time I was "over ruled"
I reckon it has probably fallen apart by now- - which she will tell everyone is my fault

This appears to be an ongoing issue with brickweave, it sinks due to poor foundation work.
In Norwich, many of the brickweave speed tables in the city have subsequently been replaced with blacktop because the motor traffic was causing the bricks to sink due to sloppy foundation work.
Nuff said.
