Any idea how to fix the bulge of a tpu tube

I was using an airmoto set to 30 psi on my new tpu tube and got a bulge like as if it was threatening to burst. How do I deal with that?

They all do that so don't pump them up to more than a minimal pressure without a tyre surrounding them!

As I understand it that is now knackered - they are only to be inflated inside a tyre :-(

I guess you could try it and see how it goes, it either goes pop, or seems ok - you could inflate it and not ride the bike for a while, and see what happens.

Bulge means it’s damaged. Don’t ride it. Bin it.
TPU tubes are sensitive. You probably pinched it during install or the bead wasn’t seated right. Next time, inflate halfway first, work the tyre bead into place, then go to pressure.

TPU tubes last only an average of 12 months inside a tire, then tiny pin prick like holes will appear one at a time leading you on a wild goose chase trying to find out what's causing the flats.

I had them on my touring bike, the rear tire went flat, this is a Schwalbe Marathon Almotion tire, a nearly flat proof design, pulled the tube, the leak was on the rim side not the tread side, checked the rim tape, checked the rim, the tire all ok, patched the tube, reinflated and another leak, so since I was thinking I'm too stupid after 50 years of riding I took it to a bike shop, they checked the rim tape, the rim and the tire, nothing. About 15 minutes go by and the owner walks in, she's been using TPU tubes for the last 5 years, she told me that's what TPU tubes do, and when she checked she found 3 more pin hole leaks besides the one I patched, and the second one I found. She told me the reliability is not good especially for use on a touring bike and told me to go back to butyl. I go home and put in butyl tubes I had in the drawer. She did say if the TPU tubes are unused they will last indefinitely, and suggested I carry two in my saddle bag because 2 TPU tubes are lighter then 1 butyl tube, and 2 TPU tubes take up about 1/2 the space of a butyl tube. I already had 2 in the saddle bag so those will stay as emergency backup tubes.

I use latex tubes in my regular road bike, but the owner lady said do not use latex in a touring bike either, but she also said they don't make them anyway in the size my tire needs.

What did you expect was going to happen when you inflate the tube with no tyre to contain it? It's the bracing in the tyre that contains the pressure, not the tube. The tube's just there to provide an airtight seal, which is why tubeless tyres can dispense with a tube once they're made an airtight fit on an airtight rim. Tubes have to be able to expand a little so the they press on the inside of the tyre...

...so they expand a lot more without the tyre:
