With my huge haematoma, no damage to my clothes either...until A&E took the scissors to them! I've grazed knees and elbows with no clothing damage either

My (happily) limited experience of bruising is that bruises pop up in places which often don't bear any relation to the point of impact.

I got hit by a car a couple of weeks ago. Just a few bruises, and a dead front wheel to show for it.

Sorry to hear of your accident. Don't forget to report the pothole to the Local Authority. They should fix it sharpish if you tell them it caused your accident.

My ouch moment involved a sharp corner, a puncture and a ford in full flow. However at least I had someone to share the experience with as we both ended up splashing after water bottles downstream in fits of laughter.

No offs thankfully, just an enormous heart in mouth moment when I took a right hand bend on a country road a little quickly and then found a lot of gravel on the tarmac halfway through the bend. As the grip failed I had the choice to either continue round the corner and go down, or stay upright and go straight on. I took the latter option onto a big, soft, but very bumpy grass verge and just about managed to save it and get stopped. My heart rate just about doubled.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to re-check the saddle fore and aft adjustment on my road bike. Thought I'd use KOPS to obtain a rough starting point. Sitting on the bike and trying to keep it vertical, my left foot was on tip toe. Common sense should have suggested here was an accident waiting to happen. At the same time I attempted to drop a plumb line from my right knee, while holding the bike stationary with the rear brake. Man and bike keeled over to the left and in trying to prevent a plummet to the concrete floor, something 'went' in my left leg. The doc has diagnosed a painful, if poetic, lateral collateral ligament sprain. Ouch.

Came down quite hard on sheet ice, on my commute on Friday... stupid really, I had been warned. I assumed the middle of the road would be ok, but round a corner on a really steep bit of bill I suddenly found myself on a huge bit of sheet ice!!! Bruised shoulder, and ego and a sore neck and leg. Stopped me gong on my Sunday club run today, but back to the commuting tomorrow, hopefully incident, and ice, free.
Sliding down the road on my back was quite exhilarating though :becool:

Minor off mid summer whilst trickling at walking pace, I was waiting for a small lorry to clear a parked car and got my foot tangled up in the front mudguard ending up kneeling in the road with with the toptube across my right calf, bruised my calf and grazed my knee. Late summer I picked up an insect sting and had a massive reaction to it ending up with me being rushed to Warwick hospital.

I've mentioned my recent "off" on another thread - hit sheet ice on a country road, currently enjoying my second evening of b&b courtesy of the NHS.

Glad it wasn't worse @Jon George, you seem to have kept your sense of humor in spite of the off! GWS!
I can report falling into a ford early in the year which left me wet through, cold and bruised
Oh my, this must have passed me by, sorry to hear it.
Is there a link to the ride report, any pictures? ^_^
No offs for me this year ... yet, there's still time!
EDIT: forgot that I had a minor fall in the summer, almost stationary, no harm done apart from a wee bruise on my arm.
