Not yet no. She only has experience of the 3 and 3.5 channel indoor copters.

I think I would be going for something a bit smaller, I fly helicopters and have done for about 5 or 6 years I have several including:

Blade Nano CPX - Indoor and good weather outdoor micro heli

Trex 250 - Outdoor only will hurt a lot if it hits you and cost you money

Esky Belt CP - Outdoor only 400 size heli will take off fingers and almost certainly result in an A+E visit and a very large repair bill if it hits you

I have just bought my first Quadcopter, hopefully it will be here today, I got this one:

Hubsan x4 H104L - Indoor light weather outdoor £26.88 - from here -> http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DSZA3VU

I also looked at this

DROMIDA OMINUS 238MM - They say it is almost indestructible and a good buy for under £60 but probably more and outdoor than indoor.

I would think about getting something a bit cheaper and much smaller than the one you listed, I havent seen that one but it looks large, as if you crash that one you are looking at you will be looking at a large repair bill.

To give you an idea if I crash my Nano CPX micro heli it will either do nothing to it or worst case cost me under £20 to fix (unless it takes out the main board), if I crash my trex 250 it will break something and the last time I did this it cost me £70 to fix it and I only dropped it from about 2 feet, if I crash the 400 size it will be very expensive and I dont even want to think about it :giggle:

So there you go just my thoughts take them or leave them.

Thank you

Initial impressions are it is heavier than I thought it would be which is good & it is small enough to be ok indoors and should be ok outside in calm weather without being too small. The TX isnt bad considering how much the Quad was I am waiting for the battery to charge so I will let you know how it flies later. Only negative point is they didnt include any batteries for the TX and they are AAA and all my other TX's take AA  but luckily I had some AAA for my rear bike light.

My son has an outdoor heli and you've got to keep well away from it. We put a larger rear rotor on to increase stability in less than still conditions. Deffo A&E trip if it hits you

My quadcopter, easy flying I've also got the V911 helicopter, more difficult to fly, but probably still easier than @phil_hg_uk blade nano as it has a balance bar, (rod above rotor with weights on)

Yes the Nano is very very fast and takes quite a bit of getting used to but once you do it is an excellent heli considering how small it is, it has the AS3X stability computer on it to make up for the fact it is flybarless and it is full 6 channel and is also full 3D so it can fly upside down.

My mate and me fly RC helis and he has progressed onto building and selling drones (quads, hex etc).

He has a shop site here but would happily to talk to you about options (more than willingly), tell him Ian referred you.

He will also give you an honesty opinion of the DJI.
Interesting site, like the look of the F450 and spider F450. Does sort of back up my earlier post though about DJI being the Apple of the multi rotor world, all put into a nice shiny frame at a premium price. Where your mates stuff can do same job (probably better) but doesn't have the same consumer appeal. It does to me, but then I'm an engineer and like to see stuff working and fiddle with it. Android modded phones for me.

I do have an MSRX as well, but I need a bigger house! It was too much of a step up from a mCX2 for me, hence the V911. Plus the V911 with extra batteries and a handful of spares (only ever had to change a balance bar after a mate tried flying it) costless from China than a Blade heli.

Seems the MSRX has disappeared from the Blade website frontpage. No small intermediate helis there at all now. Seems a big jump from a mCX2 to a Nano to me.

I had an MSRX! Bloody evil, dangerous spiteful little thing that was. Longest flight I ever recorded without smashing it was around 3 seconds. Bloody thing...
Did actually get the Phoenix simulator as I lusted after a Trex 450, but didn't manage to land anything on there either (although the gas turbine Apache was fun to fly around until it crashed, which took about 15 seconds)
No, don't have the patience for heli's, but am sorely tempted by a quad!

@Mark Grant He knows a bit about model 'thing' flying. Accomplished fly-by-night also.

I'm afraid helis do nothing for me.
The DJI Phantom is a popular bit of kit, as far as I know it is similar to the Blade 350 QX.
They have the ability to hold position and altitude, they can 'return home' at the flick of a switch and can be set up so you never have to really fly 'nose in'.
Around here, near Heathrow, if you have the latest GPS software you will be limited in your flights. I was talking to a chap that came into the model shop a few weeks ago. he said that if he flew in his garden it would only go to about 3 feet because of the safety features of the software and proximity to the airport.
Because of the gyros and other features they can be easy to fly, but I find quads boring.

Whichever you choose make sure there is a good spares back up.
Many people come into the model shop where I help out with helicopters of strange makes that they have bought at markets or from the internet trying to buy spares.
