Anybody got any of the Aldi kit yet?

Wore the Aldi softshell jacket yesterday in the cold, very impressed. Although not so impressed when I got home and it took me 20minutes to open the rear zip to get my keys out.

First outing for me in the Aldi softshell for me today - though bought in the summer when they had them and way too warm at that point, I'm glad I bought it now!

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
I have used the leg warmers a lot - they are really useful at this time of year, and have decided that that is the answer to the hopeless task of trying to find longs that fit - wear warmers and shorts, with thin long-johns under when it gets colder. The Aldi ones are standing up well, though the stitching is coming adrift at the top of the elasticated band. Have since bought some club issue leg warmers too, better fit and thicker - but at almost three times the price of the Aldi ones!

gunna try, but sold out the first shops i've been to ..

must admit, i did get to like the feeling,,, (apart from thinking, these shoes are not as 'nice' as the small/soft trainers i normally wear)..

They do restock - I went back with a Medium whatnot, and they had no small - went back a few days later and they had new stock so bought a Small, but didn't have my medium to return.

I've bought a few tops and shorts and they are just fine, I was especially impressed with the winter gloves. They are warm and supple for gripping the handlebars.

I've found previously that their zips can be a bit sketchy. As regards restocking, I think it's more a case of stock circulation. If they are in nice areas then kitchen gadgets get snapped up in seconds flat. In tough parts of town the kitchen stuff gathers dust but a satellite TV kit is gone by lunchtime. A friend reports that in his bit of leafy Cheshire the delivery of the Aldi/Lidl equestrian offering causes widespread civil unrest, with panic in certain areas. I don't think they even drop the horsey stuff off in East Leeds. The only horses round there have perspex eye shields and a copper on their backs.

As a result, after they have had stuff in for a week or so I think they have a ring round to mop up spare stuff. "Hello, is that Andy in Hulme? Hi Andy, Colin here from Chester. Yes, fine thanks. Look, have you still got any pasta makers? You have? Excellent. Look, we're struggling to move the hooded tops and white track suits, any space your end? Great. Tell you what then, next time we can organise the armed escort past Moss Side I'll chuck the sportwear in and you can backload the pasta makers, horsey kit and fancy coffee makers. Brill. See you at the area meeting then."

The winter gloves are lovely

I bought them as "spares" and after wearing them once I've put my EBC revolution ones in the spares drawer instead

Wore the bib tights today, medium size.

Used the high viz waterproof jacket today when out for a ride - was brill. Didn't get sweaty (so it breathes well), but I did have the front open for most of the ride cos I was hot! Back is nice and low, but obviously doesn't stop one's bum getting VERY wet when you go through puddles. Back pocket zip is a little sticky, but i guess that'll loosen up with use.
All in all, great value for money. And a bunch of other people at the event were overheard saying they also had aldi jackets.....
