I never put anything on my spokes, or anything on the bike that wasn't of use. I'm the same now - can't stand tat on the bike!

I remember having one of these on my Raleigh Striker!
Authentic motorbike throttle sound.

We used to use an empty Players Navy Cut fag packet and a clothes peg, eat your heart out Wiggle!

We used to ride over empty drink cans, they'd fold up round and clamp the tyre.

Sounded like a motorbike ( to us anyway!). Surprised my tyres lated as long as they did!.
