I've just finished mine. My garden - which is normally abuzz with birds - was eerily quiet for the whole hour, with virtually only our family of sparrows for company. How do they know?

At east you saw some! But yes that could be a factor.All the birds I've seen today have been flying backwards it's so bloody windy!
I’ll bet that’s the same 7 Starlings that come and hoover up our food too.I'd love to see a nuthatch- none around these parts as not wooded enough.
Here's the hour's haul from our patch this morning - nothing extraordinary but not bad.
