Captain Britain? As a child read Marvel Comics, which I believe helped my reading age by an average of about 5 years when they use to do the test thing at school 🤔 Coming from a family that did not read books probably helped my English Comprehension (top3 in the class) even if my writing was and still is appalling and Language was near bottom of the class. When I became a teenager and got into music I gave the tea chest of comics I had to the 'yearly' (in those days) recycling drive / fundraising for the local scout and cubs. Probably worth a few Bob if I'd kpet them...
Only thing I have left is the Annuals, and a love of Marvel which I share with my children

Yep Think I had the full run of UK Marvel comics (when Marvel did then), it was okay, not my favourite (Silver Surfer) but all part of my youthCaptain Britain?

Have to say, it looks a bit naff. I'd have called him Major Britain and given him a military moustache.
I used to read The Victor.
Alf Tupper “Tough of the Track” was my hero.
I always have a large portion of fish & chips before going out on a ride now.
When I first moved to France I started learning French from Petit Spirou. When I lived in France I got quite into bandes dessinées or BD, which is huge in France and Belgium. Astérix and Tintin are examples but there are entire bookshops dedicated to the genre as well as magazines. We don't do it as well in British culture.
