Looking for black 'guards for my cross-check with 40c tyres. I've always used SKS chromoplastics in the past but spotted these in 50mm on the Spa Cycles website.

Anyone have any experience with them, or other recommendations?

My Ridgeback has 'Flinger' mudguards on it. Not 50mm though but the clip on ones (L shaped bracket fit)

I had Flingers on my Marin mtn bike, still got the front Flinger on my FF29. The ones I had were decent guards but mine were for a mtn bike, not the linked ones.

I got similar on all my bikes, that is they look like the ones linked but can't say the make because they came with the bikes.
Measure your tyres, don't go by what's written on them, if clearance is tight then every time you remove a wheel you need to adjust them again.
Fitting them is not straight forward either, having tried once, I now let the LBS fit them.
They are effective, but of course the dirt collected under them needs to be cleared from time to time.
When they pick up leaves the bike goes "zzzzzzzzzzzzz"
