Suppose you close the lid before bed and then get up for a pee all bleary-eyed and half asleep during the night? The traditional WC pan is not suitable for chaps to use standing up; no matter how good their aim there's always some splashing. Since I installed all three WC pans in our house I take pride in keeping them spotless so I always sit down to pee.
I also installed a home urinal; I reckon every house where there are men and boys should have one of these. It even has an aiming fly:

That's a pelvic floor and a halfA friend of mine in Finland saw a woman in the men's using a urinal, standing up with one leg raised out to the side about waist height. He said her aim was 'quite' good.
When you gotta go, you gotta go.
Less mess, keep your shoes dry.
For some reason that made me giggle like an four year old, pathetic really. Anyway, I can't say I've ever had a surprise number 2, urgent yes, surprise, no.You sometimes get a surprise number 2 come out
A female gymnast friend of mine can pee further up the wall than many men...
