Following on from my interesting shower thread and Rich's chutney thread, here is my appliance thread which nicely compliments Skoly's kids thread and reinforces the, things ain't like they used to be, theme, including wine and memories if we encompass Cubist's excellent wine thread.
Six years ago, if my fuzzy inexactitude is correct and it's normally correct within the fuzzy boundaries I set, we moved into a new house and bought a lot of stuff new, as you do when rip everything out and start again. During that time, the dishwashers has broken, two wine coolers are now switched off because the fan has become too noisy. The oven broke once, the boiler pump broke recently, the induction hob has broken twice, involving several visits of a useless engineer who didn't even listen to what I told him and fixed the wrong fault. The coffee machine leaked once and the microwave has broken twice, latterly at the wknd and my faithful microwave engineer in Deeside, just off ncn 5, so all those on the Llandudno ride cycled past him, has fixed it again. I have doubts about the veracity of the washing machine too, which sounds like it's taxiing for take off when spinning. I have become quite an expert at getting stuff fixed now but honestly, some of this stuff lasts less time than a pair of modern socks, which I also once started a thread on. And don't get me started on undies or the state of M&S essentials these days.
