He's probably one of the worlds most underrated guitarists.
And, it was because of Setzer that I have the tattoo's that I have. I found out who the artist was and tracked him down. All my tattoo's were done by the same artist.
Don't a lot of the other 'big-name' guitarists think the same too?

He was the first 'signature artist' that Gretsch signed (in 1990), since their Chet Atkins models in 1956!! (I think)
Was that due to his influence, or simply the resurgence that he lead in the playing of Gretsch?

Regarding the other stars praising him

There's a point where Claire Teal is telling Setzer, (@ 1:31) she was taking to Bryan Adams, about (her) presenting a radio show about Jazz. big-bands, etc..
He asked if she 'knew his friend, Brian Setzer'
Adams 'dropped everything' & flew from Europe (when on tour??). to play with Setzer, when trying to get the BSO off the ground

Interview finishes at 1:35 (then his last track)

Can't believe its 25 years since he started the BSO'

Mindst you, it was February 1981, when the first 'Cats LP was released!!

I don't think he's underrated, granted he's not a household name but he's got successful records, massive shows with the BSO, Emmy's, a Gretch signature guitars, etc. Coincidentally enough this thread just reminded me I haven't looked him up for a while to see if he's playing over here, he is - yay! it's tonight and it's sold out - boo! What are the chances...

They take your money and advertise your ticket at a higher price, then if someone else buys the ticket at the higher price they refund you.

I'm starting to appreciate Bob Dylan more and more. Really digging into his albums at the mo although not really the older folky stuff, recently picked up the Bootleg Vol 10 which is stuff around Self Portrait and New Morning (1969-71), alt takes and originals before studio overdubs and the like, it's really good. Self Portrait was panned on release, Rolling Stone had a review titled 'What Is This Shit', well it ain't dung anymore.

Loudon Wainwright III calls it 'an interesting effort'...

It's mostly all based on playing stacked third notes of Major and minor scales, but the rhythms have changed over the years...........
No it isn't but yes they have.
This is the basics of Music Harmony. Any questions just ask, I've studied this stuff since I was a young teenager. :okay:

I know exactly what you mean, a couple of years ago, a band I'd not seen for 20+ years were actually playing at a venue less than a mile from my house
I found out about it on the day, but whilst there were probably tickets still available, I was on dads taxi duties taking daughter (& friend) to Leeds Arena
They've not returned & aren't booked to... yet

Mark, the singer/guitarist, played lead for this group too

Meant to add the Guitar 'signature' link;

And......... an exact replica, with 'extras'!
At a price............. https://www.thomann.de/gb/gretsch_g6120ssc_setzer_tribute.htm

I do like the fact, that he (& Rocker, and Phantom) looked up to Dave Edmunds though^_^
I've still got a copy of the VHS tape, that this interview came from
(plus, the only way I can listen to a certain Queen track... Tia Carrera, as Wayne says; "Schwing!!")

Despite the picture, this is the interview
