There's a company somewhere around here that runs a fleet of cement mixers with M1XER, M1XUR, and M1XAR.

Used to see a lot of PO0 reg's up here from 2002 on, so "PO02 YOU" for example ^_^

I'm sure the PO is for Preston, which would explain it I suppose :okay:
On the old system, OO was Essex County Council, so there used to be lots of POO... and LOO.... around here.

Nothing new there and like anything else, if you keep it legal there's no cause for concern. Both of my shorter cherished numbers are printed properly on full size plates for example

Lad I grew up with used his new father-in-law's red Aston Martin as their wedding car

Registration number was 4 COV

best said with a Scouse accent

apparently 4 COF was banned but they allowed COV

marriage didn't last long but they are still good friends - car is long gone

Car with that plate pulled out from a drive while I was cycling to work near me last week. Wasn’t on a Jag, it was a Far Eastern make of some sort, I couldn't make it out It was pulling out of a very modest and somewhat scruffy council or ex council semi.

I thought that reg number (U1) belonged to Leeds City Council, was on the Mayors car
Edit: According to the MOT check website it's on a 2019 Volvo S90 Hybrid, the rear tyre was just about worn out at 12,500 miles apparrently

Yes I thought that too.

It could have been a S90 I guess. I thought it looked like an exec saloon of some kind but looked anodyne and characterless.

POO was used on several of the works rally Escorts in the mid/late 70s including the Russell Brookes / Paul White "Heat For Hire" car that finished second on the 1979 Lombard RAC Rally.

Could go upstairs and grab the relevant book off the shelf to get all the number plates, but I'm currently incaPUSSitated.

Yes the old works Escorts had some interesting plates on over the years .

One of the coolest automotive things I have ever seen involved number plates

I used to work in Liverpool and my route to the City Centre for lunchtime shopping involved going down'alleys' between Dale STreet and Tithebarn Street (for those who know the area)
This area is made up of 4-6 storey Victorian (?) building - now mostly converted to offices and such
Some have basically fallen down and are now small private car parks or very expensive NCP car parks for only a few cars

One of these alleys has a car park for about 10 cars next to it
One day I was walking down the alley when I noticed that on the front of the car park were 2 E-Type Jags convertibles
Both British Racing Green
with consecutive number plates (old style black and white - of course)
Parking in numeric order

very cool
