This is the bike the thieves stole. They must be idiots because if they are keeping this in Denmark anyone who cycles knows these bikes. They are used for an annual charity ride and I have never seen one for sale on the open market.

They stand out a bit.

I tell everyone i live in Meanwood i actually live in Harewood House.

I know that's not true. Fenton uses the place as his pied-à-terre when he wants to spend time in a smaller home.

Does this eventually give a series of tracks, starting and finishing on points on a circle, centred on your house?
Only if you are stupid enough to use your own post code! You can also centre it on the centre of your town or village or put in a neighbouring postcode. The radius is ½ mile from wherever you ever the centre as. Or it could be 1 mile... I can't remember, but my point is you don't use your own post code if you are worried about it.

Yes, though I have more than one privacy circle enabled, and start most of my commutes after a car journey so they would have to stake out a couple of locations. And after a suggestion on here, my privacy circle is centred on a neighbouring road! Paranoid .... Possibly

Are they more likely to stake out a car park or a house?

Well by the time I frequently visit friends by bike they will have plenty of places to stake out, and if they are that desperate for my bike, I leave it locked up on the streets too, then they will take it. Whilst I love it, I'd rather ride it than keep it locked up never to venture outside!

Yes but 1 km from your house. (It may be 1 mile, I can't recall) So a thief would need to scope every house in a square KM in the hope of finding yours.

Also keep in mind you most often approach your home from the same one or two roads, so it's not as if you would have a hundred vectors all stopping on a circumference that would allow you to easily predict a destination. Most of my rides stop on the same road, a mile from my house.

I also, occasionally ride past my hose and back again, to clock certain mileage targets, so this all helps to confuse the destination.

Never thought of doing that. Excellent idea.

I have just added 3 more postcodes, each of which is within half a mile of my house. I now have a pretty vast privacy "blackout".

Thanks.

My start and stop points and my home location on all my gps devices is in the centre of my village. I think I know the way home from there.

Depends, a carpark that is stabbed out with cyclists' cars on a Sunday morning could be worth the bother.
True and not to give thieves any ideas but if you want to Nick a bike you could do worse than to spend a delightful Saturday morning drinking tea, dressed in Lycra, at any tea shop in kent.

Help yourself, us cycle types are pretty relaxed when we stop for cake. There is a tea stop about 20 miles from my
home that has warnings of bike thefts whilst riders are relaxing.

It happened to a friend of mine who rides with Bigfoot. He along with loads of other parked their bikes outside the cafe next to the Bike store in Hayes after a ride. Someone must have just come along and walked away with his bike.

One of the reasons I never leave my bike unlocked for any amount of time. Even if I am just popping into a shop.
