Are mobility cars worth considering if you only do around 2,750 miles a year?

If your having minor bumps, don't go on the motability scheme, they will penalise you financially when the car is returned damaged, they seem to be clamping down now on the scumbags that get a new car every 3 years, trash it, then go to another brands dealer & start again, when we purchased a Ford Galaxy years ago the salesman showed us a 3 year old Galaxy, top of the range Titanium X spec, it was metallic black, scraped & scratched down both sides with the rear bumper hanging off, that was, iirc £35,000 in new 2013!

Plus, they've stopped offering cabriolets on the mobility scheme.👎

They're trying to lower the profile to avoid punitive action from Rachael Thieves, besause its disabled people's fault the country is a mess.

What business isnitmof anyones if people want to put five figure deposits down and then pay exactly the same monthly payment as anyone else? Whether they have a Range Rover or a Fiat 500 the monthly PIP cost is identical.

Yes, theres a good condition bonus, coupla hundred quid. Very minor knocks and scratches are considered fair wear and tear, but thats it. Anything bigger than a tiny door ding or a scratch more than 2 or 3 cm will have them bending you over and whipping your Y fronts down.

Ah, I thought they'd repair and not penalise ANY damage, even stuff like the car being ran into from behind.

BTW Accy, well done beating them in tribunal. Im presuming the DWP didnt even bother turning up?

Just remembered, when I entered the assessment building yesterday 2 security stopped me, asking me to put my phone, wallet, keys etc in a tray. Then one of them used one of those hand held metal detectors, moving it all over my body!🙄 It went off when scanning my back, with the security thinking 'Heck, he's got a 'shank' ffs!!😲 He told me to take my jacket off. He then saw the item that set the scanner off was part of my braces, holding my trousers up, much to his disappointment!😁 The bloke who assisted me in the hearing wasn't scanned though.🤔

For collisions the normal conventions of insurance apply. Anything more than slight damage earns a pistol whipping and gooseneck lamp interrogation at return time.

Yes,technically the tribunal is a court and searches are normal. Even coppers in plain clothes have to disarm and go through the scanner, because searching a copper for weapons and then giving them their peg (prohibited offensive weapon) and spray (s.5 firearm) back makes the world a safer place.

I thought that if you looked after it they paid you a bonus when it went back, no penalty for general wear, tear and knocks ?

If you look after it and send it back in immaculate condition, then you get some cash back, however even a bit of damage to it, then brace yourself to be penalised
