Well, write it down boy ......
I was impressed by the security shown in the program about Monaco, 1 police officer for every 70 people. I know if I was wealthy I would feel safer living there.
I was arrested in Monaco once (1988), for riding a moped and not wearing a helmet. I had hired it in Nice, where no-one wore a helmet, so I assumed you didn't have to in France and rode to Monaco and got pulled close to some casino.

The Glue that binds us together.
He drives a car and has won more F1 races than anyone else in history. What about Steve Redgrave - why did he get knighted? He only rows a boat......he rowed a boat rather well and at the time was our best Olympian. Or Sir Chris Hoy? He only rides a bike - and only round and round on a track at that.
That sums up the whole system.

I disagree. He loves this country so much that he lives in Monaco as a tax exile. That's fair enough - I might even do the same in his shoes - but to then accept an honour from the very country he has turned his back on, the very crown to which he has chosen to avoid paying tax, smacks of hypocricy so breathtaking that it amazes even me.
It’s not like he needs to live somewhere with more or less perfect weather to train in every day, it’s just to avoid paying his share in to the system, why should someone on minimum wage pro rata tip up more of their income than he does, just an obnoxious greedy blinged up wide boy

He can live where he likes and for whatever reasons he likes just as the rest of us are free to. Indeed one of the arguments put forward by people who wanted to remain in the EU was that they had the freedom to live and work in any member state, presumably they did not intend to also send HMRC a cheque every year.

And as Hamilton drives for a British based team I would wager that he spends enough time in this country to pay taxes to HMRC, bearing in mind that the modern F1 drivers take a very much hands on approach to the development of the cars.

But the average UK person won’t move to a tax haven, they will pay into the system of their country of residence and won’t rent their own private jet to themselves as an extra tax fiddle.

But unless you were in that situation you don't know what you would do.

Where does he earn his income?
Most of his earnings are not generated in the UK, so he doesn’t have to pay UK tax on money earned outside the UK.
It’s very simple, sadly most of us earn all our money in the UK so have to pay UK tax on it.
His UK tax bill is still astronomical.

He's not the average UK person. That's... sort of the point?

As for the OP, I am calling...

LIES! I have no reason to believe that he's ever been to Hamilton, Motherwell, Wishaw or Lanark! FAKE NEWS

I knew I should have substituted 'Monaco' for 'Hamilton' in the OP! 😏
