It's a bit more complicated than that...
During the second World war the government were quick to implement special measures to try and make the country safer. It is time that the EU thought about doing the same thing.
You've been allowed to get away with this for too long.

The two situations are not remotely comparable, and to pretend they are is disrespectful to the memory of the dead of the war.

In the last 11 years since 7/7, fewer than 1,000 people have been killed by terrorism in the EU.

In the 6 years of WW2, tens of millions were killed, tens of thousands times as many.

The only special measures required are to reaffirm our commitment to the rule of law.

I am sure someone must be doing something but at all the Pro ISIS demonstrations the same faces turn up again and again. The same supporters are being interviewed on the TV.

It seems if I shout and swear by myself on the street. I can be arrested. But it also appears that these ISIS supporters can unful the black flag and show their support for ISIS with impunity.

There are people who believe that this is freedom of speech and they should have it. I disagree. I believe in freedom of speech, but not when it potentially threatens other people. If that is the aim then the freedom of speech should be removed.

Bollo...I would not object to a Gitmo on European soil. But not on the fishing expedition theme that the Americans did it. Just look at the news and youtube and you see the same faces turning up supporting ISIS on the TV and rallies all over Europe.

There is whisperings that an internment camp already being built.
Free speech for fishing? ISIS on TV? Shouting and swearing on the street? Are we, perhaps, pitching for a daytime show?

More interesting and thought-provoking you mean?

More aggressive, argumentative, cliquey, tedious, unpleasant, and humourless, you mean?

Well, half a dozen people out of 37,000. We are bereft.

Half a dozen active posters out of a mainly historic and sleeping membership of 37,000. Never mind; soon you and your gang will have the place all to yourselves; good luck with that!
Back on topic, it's just like the internet version of ISIS.. SCP is Syria but now you are spreading your wings and trying to spread the poison elsewhere. One day, you might even post something cycle related, then we're in trouble .

This isn't new. Remember the IRA funerals where the guys turned up with balaclavas and rifles. Why weren't they arrested on sight? I'm guessing (hoping) that security services are playing a deeper game and although they want to stop the foot soldier, they want the higher ups more

How many people do you want interned in your new H blocks and on what basis?

Doesn't history teach us anything about what happens to regimes, even our own regimes, that incarcerate, or worse, and it always, always, ends up worse, people on suspicion of crimethink? Stalin's USSR, Khymer Rouge, Mao's China, Imperial Britain...?

Or make it work better?

You're not going to make it work better - too many people with irons in the fire, too many languages, too many national positions.

Sounds like the UK is like Belgium which is a bit like the EU in miniature, multiple languages and fractured organisations with a bureaucracy trying to do its own thing. Would make sense to disband the UK on that basis?

The UK has one overall language. is generally co-operative, and its police and security forces work together. We also vote for our government.

Are those advocating Brexit on security grounds doing it to protect the rest of the EU by keeping them on UK soil? Can't find where I read it but it was being suggested UK has more radicals than other countries.
