Stop spending and jobs will go. However balance that against pollution and clean air wins.

Interesting metaphor, seeing as I have a water bed.
One doesn't have to save it all. One could spend some or all of it on nice things instead.
What might be your idea of nice may not be mine.
I think you may find that a non car owner spends less than a car owner.
Not intentionally, I am just making a point that a lot of people who might say they are going green really have another motive.

That's half the reason for not owning a car. I've worked at home for years and the affect of the lack of cycle commuting is clear for all to see
