Got home by 7.15, A12/M25 very busy but no undue holdups.

One of the best rides ever: great route, weather, food, and of course company: eight of the most select!

Helen, a big thank you for organising

• good weather
• good fuel stops
• a pleasant route on lanes (in better condition than those in Surrey)

It was good to meet what I will think of as the Suffolk/Essex Chapter of CC.

And special thanks to User10571 for leading the impromptu 11% descent and retracing climb just before the teastop.

Very heavy traffic on the Embankment in Chelsea on the way home reminded me of the pleasures of a day in the country.
