There's brown leaves all down the pavement on my side of our street. It's a terrace, with no trees tall enough in the back of anyone's garden. Bloody wind...
I'm with you on that one. Just spent a pleasant few hours riding in Delamere Forest. Slight chill in the air, a carpet of crunchy leaves on the trails, squirrels and other various wildlife doing their thing. All so very peaceful and relaxing.
I've already had to rake my lawn ...the offending apple tree is being felled next week (although after I had to pick up all the bloody apples that have already fallen off)!
Yes thing are settling down.Cut the lawn this morning, weeded the spare land, and cleared the strawberry patch of weeds.Everything seems to be bedding down for a break. So that might be the last of the gardening for a few months.
Summer's still fighting a stubborn rearguard action down here but it sounds like it's just about to change. Mind, the forecasters served notice on summer at the beginning of the week and it still hasn't moved on. Meanwhile, I've been practising my rear wheel tiddlywinks skills with conkers in the park.
