Awesome Climb

I've climbed it on a mountain bike but that was just a question of sitting twiddling in a tiny granny ring. I've also descended it at least twice, again on mountain bikes so I'm also planning to climb it this summer on my best road bike, which has 34-28.

If I ever do it, I'll be using my 28/30!

I'd want to be 7 or 8 kgs lighter and to have sorted out problems with my back which cause difficulties on long steep climbs.

I have tracked down my 1993 photos. Oh happy memories of devil may care, no responsibilities, leave to use up before the end of March, Youth Hostels aplenty, make it up as you go along cycling holidays.

Yes, it is. Not that I've cycled up there - I walked the Pennine Way a couple of years ago, which goes past it.
