The first year of school. They're 4 when they arrive and turn 5 during the year. It's like herding kittens but with lots of laughter and hugs.

I didn't work 8 hours a day but I definitely worked hard over the summer. It was also much less joyful than being in school. I am so very happy to be back.What,for 8 hours a day?

Eldest daughter has been back for 3 weeks now. She is a NQT with first placement teaching maths to teenagers. Talk about baptism of fire.
Poor girl, it's a tough year to be an NQT. I was an NQT last year but am so grateful I got the whole of my PGCE training. Hope she's doing okay and isn't too downhearted. It's SUCH a tough first term.

Oh,this is taking the piss!!!! The longest school holiday/skive in history just goes on and on and on....
Seriously...no-one enjoyed it. The teachers wanted to be in school and the kids generally got tired of home-learning. It was not a great time for anyone. Also, there was a pandemic.

Apparently there is a letter template circulating on Facebook for parents to download so they can threaten legal action against their child’s school if they compel their child to wear a mask or sanitise their hands.

You know you're thick when not only can you not write a letter unaided, but you have to resort to facebook for guidance.
