? In what way are they rude to you. I have found some particularly obnoxious nurses in hospital but they are a very small minority. Note while visiting patients and as a patient not working in hospital.

It doesn't matter in what way, rude is rude.

Agree about nurses, in the main they are fine, nice or tetchy, depending on workload and that's fine. A small group are super polite always and a similarly small group are gits. I don't think their vocation has anything to do with it, they would be miserable, sullen and fundamentally awkward people no matter what they did.

I think that I've been lucky, always worked for myself or run a business with a small group of friendly people. Now, in a place of 1000's with elitism, petty bureaucracy, pathetic personal feuds and petty inter-dept politics running riot, my jaw is left dropping at the rudeness of these people each day. It is funny though. ^_^

You applied prejorative, racist labelling. You claimed people behave rudely because they are Eastern Europeans. That's very silly.
..
Cmon Glenn, the problem here really is your interpretation of my post. At no point was the word rude used by me..or implied by me.
To claim it does flys in the face of reality.

Cultural norm. I use that thought when at work where you're walking tbrough the busy entrance to the factory..and the door will almost NEVER be held open by the preceding person, because they're 99% east european. Its not personal, they dont hold the door for their own kind, its just not part of their thought process.
One fella the other day did hold the door...fairly took me by surprise.

Aye, I find this with older Asian drivers in Bradford. You let them out of a side road, and get no nod or thumbs up. A quick thanks just doesn't register in their head.

For what it's worth in the thread about bad manners, before we go too far down the rude foreigners debate, the woman who jumped the queue was a 60 -ish year old Yorkshire woman.

You have now made two posts that implie as a new poster I have no right to post statements that disagree with your posts. How many post do I have to make before I am allowed to disagree with you??

Looks like a newspaper to me!!

Nope, I'm saying if a new poster pops up and starts lying about what people have posted, invents stuff they never said and refuse to explain why then it's interesting. Nothing to do with you disagreeing. It's your dishonesty.

If you don't think it's rude why are you whining about it?

Wrong again. Im not whining. Simply stating an observation thats held true for me, for many years. My opening line. ? Cultural norm...is the acceptance we are different, have different peer input into our lives, don't behave the same...thats simply an acceptance, a reality, it doesnt have to imply hatred, bigotry or racism.

I thought your observation was sincere and honest. Some folks take political correctness to the extreme and this stifles genuine discussion. It makes society so much poorer for it.

It does if you claim they're rude because they're Eastern Europeans, which is what you did. Sweeping generalisation just the same as if a Pole said people are rude cos they're Brits.

Ah well, I guess youre incapable of interpreting a sentence that doesnt include the word rude, doesnt IMO imply rudeness, hasnt upset anyone else as far as I know...its only you Glenn. Perhaps you should ask yourself why ?
Nothing personal, I'm sure you're a nice fella...but I can't do any more to convince you. If you take it to the extreme, your kind of political correctness, that will not tolerate ANY observation, thought, words etc that YOU consider to be racist...is the kind of intolerance that really is dangerous.
