I have a pair of Lusso Roubaix that I think cost about £50. I say "I think" because I've now had them for over 15 years which I think represents value for money

I think I got one tour out of mine - about 30 days - carried them in a pannier for 2500km last Autumn and just as it got cold enough to wear them the pad exploded

That sounds like a mighty serious product liability case - if you were wearing them.

In truth can never understand why folks buy padded tights - have to be washed after every ride.

Bit of a exaggeration - discovered floor of tent was covered in what look like the contents of a foam sofa - lots of small bits - traced it back to the bib tights I had been wearing - I thought the pads were somewhat more sophisticated than that

Another vote for Decathlon here. Just using their basic winter bib longs and they've been fine at -2 degrees.
