Bar end question

I'm asking this on behalf of a friend who would like drop bars for different hand positions when we go on a tour but doesn't want the hassle of changing the gear system/lever positions. He's currently got a flat bar road bike.

Are there any bar ends which create you drop bars?

First result upon googling "Drop Bar Ends"..

The issue I see with these, though, is that the bars may be too wide to comfortably be on the drops.

Do they clamp down to fit any bars?

As it says on the page, they clamp straight on to 22.2mm bars. You might want to measure your/your friends bars to make sure they are 22.2mm.
