What bike did you actually buy?
This thread is about the Contend isn’t it? Not the Specialized
I’m so sorry looks like I’ve mixed up the threads haha I couldn’t see how to delete the other one my bad and apologies.

But Bonzobonana says Giant bikes come with better spec than others?

I meant the parts Giant actually make themselves, frame, forks and wheels rather than third party components which are dictated by whoever makes them but yes typically a Giant bike would have slightly better components for its price point compared to the big US brands for example. Not just Giant though Merida also as a manufacturer can deliver better quality and value for their price point compared to US and European brands that rely on other factories.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Do I need special break hood covers specific for the bike because I’ve already removed the horrible ones that where on it ?
Yes - usually quite pricey too. Campag stuff is compatible with Campag. Full stop!

BTW the convention is to show the drive side of bikes in photos - that's the interesting side for those interested in bikes :okay:

Why has it got Bianchi cranks? Seems a bit of a frankenbike…but if the frame is sound that’s the important bit :okay:

His wife said he was always upgrading parts on it she said he spent a lot of money on it. I love the look of the bianchi parts if I’m honest :-)
