GWS, full sympathies. I did mine 25 years ago (that makes me feel old) and my head still turns alright so don't stress too much.

GWS. I did similar falling off a horse at about 30mph when the flat footed old sod fell over. I too rode home but horse riding doesn't take the effort that riding a bike does. I was off horses and bikes for a good 3 months
BTW, 18mph on a bike is really fast, in my opinion

my mate fell off ger horse last summer and did the same. You're gonna be uncomfortable for a few weeks mate but just milk it. GWS

And random strangers will ask why you're in a neck brace for the next several months. After three you'll likely start making stuff up, eventually perfecting a tale of derring-do.

A friend of mine was killed a couple of months ago when he went over the bars and broke his neck on Skiddaw. You were lucky.
