I've never had Proper Job on draught, the last time I was down that way for work I stayed at The Jamaica Inn and had a few pints of Jail Ale, lovely stuff. I've not even had it in bottles for a while as Mrs stephec used to lie them down in the fridge, despite the number of times I told her not to.

An on the subject of Jaipur, our local spoons has it for something like £2.30 a pint. 🍻

Proper Job's alright, but if I was drinking a draught St Austell's beer I'd go for one of their Cornish ales - Best, Hick's or Tribute. I always think there's a distinct softness in the mouthfeel of Cornish and Devon beers, but the Proper Job is just a bit like all the other crafty IPAs

Incidentally, I think Proper Job used to be a lot less like other craft IPAs and they've changed the recipe, but I might be imagining that

Still plenty of establishments around here sell proper job on cask. Not my thing. I prefer Big job. Much rarer sight.

The Jaipur deal is £3.10 around here. Tho i believe it's £2.89 on wednesdays.
A great pint and cracking value.

Heathern woman ! I don't chill ales, milds or stouts, it's my gaff is pretty cool most seasons ,so no need, only certain lagers will make there way to my fridge ,( all brewed with Czechoslovakian yeast ! , or they might be wheat beers).
So no bottled beers will be harmed , BCA ales naturally are left to stand for some time, I observe my cellarage with the reverence it deserves.
