Having lurked for a while and posted a couple of times, I realise I've been a bit rude and not said hello.

I've returned to cycling this year after a gap of 25 years. I used to cycle a lot as a teenager but stopped after starting university. I bought a second hand hybrid this year, nominally to accompany my daughter on her new bike, but I'd been thinking of starting cycling for awhile. Anyway 6 months later, over 2000km and 3 stone lighter, I'm hooked and will be getting a new road bike next year.

hello Fifer-chap fae the borders.

Thanks everyone.

Ed, not 100% sure yet but probably Defy 1. Just got a voucher for £1000 through the C2W scheme to use at my LBS which sells Giant and Trek. My choices are therefore Defy 1, Domane 2.0 or Madone 2.1. I think I'll be better with more relaxed geometry which excludes the Madone and don't fancy a triple chainset which excludes the the Domane. I've yet try them however so may change my mind and opinions would be welcome.
