ebay .... make it collection only (or they arrange their own courier who will pack ... there are small companies/van with a man who don't bother about the bike being boxed) ... you will get more than anywhere else including gumtree etc

:laugh: Thanks for that, I'm sure many will think I'm a friggin idiot and me included. The MTB is too focused, it's a one genre bike but an adventure type bike will do so much more. I'm a dick I know I am and the missus will flip
I have done similar, had to take a hit on it! Guess a lot of people have as well looking on the for sale on here and eBay.

Better to get shot of it now than try for the next six months to convince yourself that you like MTB riding lol. More chance of getting a sale as well as it is a 2017 bike.

I was just out in the garage and looked up at a couple of bikes only used twice or so a year, I could not bring myself to sell them for that reason. Mind you there are another 4 that get used often.

I couldn't justify a bike at that price barely been used unfortunately
You will lose quite a lot though. I'm with Screenman on this. I don't use my FF29 much but I wouldn't sell it but if you are determined, I'd start with forums and private ads as ebay and paypal fees will be fairly high for a bigger ticket item at 10% and 3%

If I got say £1400 for it I would take the 300 quid hit. I understand I would loose a lot but I bike I just wouldn't use is pointless. I could still take a hit and buy a bike I prefer or upgrade the single speed.

If you can get that and I've no idea if you can but you're competing against the 2016 model which seems to be available for a similar price online in limited sizes and if you don't have to sell on ebay which is going to cost you 200 in fees at that price, hence a private sale being best.

Sadly if it's a lot less I would just have to leave it as garage furniture as the wife would go balastic and rightfully so. It's looking more likely it's a very costly and stupid mistake I will just have to live with and ride it on the rare occasions I feel or have to.

What's actually wrong with it? Would different tyres make it more usable?

Sell ASAP if you can before reductions start on the 2017. Maybe call around a few MTB specialist Whyte dealers too, see if anyone will take it off you. I can think of a couple, unfortunately, you might end up losing more than £300 but at least you won't pay fleabay fees

Nothing wrong at all with the bike. It's just not the type of bike for me

Well, you're not in a hurry to sell, it is a superb bike, it is hardly used and you just need one person to see its value, you might even be able to arrange a part ex, so it's worth a try. Who knows you might even change your mind and this is just a bit of post purchase dissonance (look it up, it's a thing).

Now I could well be wrong but is not 20% of a new bikes cost VAT then there is the dealers margin, if that was my bike I would be happy for a £600 hit, ouch I know it sounds and is a lot, but I think it is reality unfortunately.
