I spotted this on the brake cable of a trike a while ago and thought it would be pretty handy to stop a bicycle squirming around when lent against something. I've tried rubber bands and such over the brake lever but find they quickly perish from UV.

Does anyone know where to get one of these or what it's called? Google has failed me.

Why not buy a regular brake lever with locking function?

Our Thorn tandem has one on it made by Hope. It's great.
I can't seem to find the product to give you a link, sorry.

Alternatively, just buy a Velcro strap and wrap it round the bar and brake lever.

I do use the velcro strap on brake lever with a loaded touring bike. I've never felt the need with an unladen bike.

When I put! my bike on a ferry for example, I used a toestrap to stop it moving about. I also used a rubber bungee round the top tube and the rail on the wall of the car deck.
